Lakewood - News Tidbits 4/20/06

APP: Avoid New Hampshire Avenue next week, if you can. The Police Department has announced a road project that will mill and repave New Hampshire from Cedar Bridge Avenue to Route 88. Work will start at 7 a.m. Monday. Crews will work until 6 p.m. daily and the job is expected to take three days, if the weather is good. Patrolman Robert Redington of Lakewood's Traffic Safety Unit said drivers should expect lane shifts and delays and may want to plan alternate routes. Police will be posted to keep traffic flowing, Redington wrote in an e-mail. Also, businesses in Lakewood Industrial Park should expect Swarthmore Avenue to close temporarily between New Hampshire Avenue and Oberlin Avenue North as that intersection is repaved. That work should be completed by late Monday morning, Redington wrote....... ------------------------------------------------------ APP: The Little League complex along Clifton Avenue is down to its last at-bat.The two fields where Lakewood Little League started have already been replaced by the new John F. Patrick Sports Complex along Vine Avenue. There is no construction timeline set for the project. The complex is bound by Clifton and Lexington avenues and Ninth and Tenth streets.......
