Arutzsheva: Rabbi Yaakov Meidan, dean of Yeshiva Har Etzion told a Bar-Ilan University audience that this year, Israelis should abstain from the traditional Independence Day barbeque in light of this summer’s expulsion of residents of Gush Katif and northern Samaria communities. Rabbi Meidan added that this year, Israelis should refrain from dawning holiday clothing and observe the day in ‘regular’ work clothes, while reciting the Hallel and other prayers added to the daily service to mark the day.
