APP: The township's oldest Orthodox Jewish congregation has a new building.Rabbi Shmuel Tendler of Congregation Sons of Israel took a reporter on a tour of the synagogue's new Holocaust Memorial Chapel this afternoon. The building, expected to open this month, is a funeral chapel for those of the Jewish faith.Set next to Mount Sinai Cemetery on East Seventh Street and just behind Lakewood High School, the new facility includes a mikveh, a bath used in a ritual cleansing of dead bodies, and an auditorium that seats 400 people.The new chapel replaces the Hebrew Institute at Fourth Street and Monmouth Avenue, which is under contract to a housing developer, Tendler said.
