Lakewood - PCS UPDATE

APP: The state has decided to let Lakewood submit receipts for its embattled Job Link program, but the program's nearly $600,000 in funding remains frozen.Karen Wolfe, spokeswoman for the state Commerce, Economic Growth & Tourism Commission, wrote in an e-mail last week that Lakewood's Urban Enterprise Zone freeze remains in effect until further notice."We have simply asked Lakewood that rather than holding on to requests, to forward them to the UEZ Office for review and consideration so that the process can be expedited once there is a final determination of the state's position,'' Wolfe wrote.The funding has been on hold for more than two months, since a state audit discovered questionable practices in Lakewood's Job Link Program.The audit questions focused on Professional Career Services, a job placement firm operated out of a Clifton Avenue office.........
