Lakewood - job funding UPDATE

APP: The state has still not told township leaders whether nearly $600,000 in job placement funding will be reinstated.Russell K. Corby, executive director of Lakewood Development Corp., said this week he has not heard from the state on when the funding might be released. The freeze has been in place since last month, after a state audit discovered questionable practices in Lakewood's Job Link Program.Corby also complained that freezing Lakewood's program money before the township has been given a written audit to respond to is unfair."It's our position the state has acted rashly,'' Corby said.A state commerce department spokesman could not immediately be reached, but has said a copy of the audit should be ready this week........
