Al Lewis - Chaim Berliner?

See those Brisker Peyos? Jewishweek: Whether doing off-the-wall sitcoms or challenging common sense by running for governor of New York, Al Lewis always played for laughs.Lewis played Officer Schnauser in Car 54, Where Are You? which starred the late Fred Gwynne on NBC in the early 1960s. Then he was back with Gwynne as the Dracula-like Grampa haunting the CBS vampire series "The Munsters"....Lewis, who died Feb. 3 at the age of 82, spoke a terrific Yiddish, having been born Al Lewis Meister in what he called the largest Jewish ghetto in the United States, Brownsville in Brooklyn. He was proud that his parents sent him to the Einstein of yeshivas, Chaim Berlin, where he used to annoy the teachers with ceaseless questions.?There is never an answer, only another question,? he said during a 1994 interview in a cafe near his apartment on Roosevelt Island......
